Fake Bail Bondsmen Alert! 2 Brothers Busted For Running A Bail Bonds Scam In Palm Beach County

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office has arrested brothers fake bail bondsmen Jonathan and Joey Footman for operated a bail bonds scheme. Detectives allege the brothers intended to steal over $10,000 from the victim. However, the fake bail bondsmen only managed to take just under $3,000. The court set the victim’s bond at $8,000.

The Footman brothers convinced him to provide debit card information under the pretense of paying for the bond. However, the brothers did not use the card to pay the bond. They made personal purchases and withdrew cash from an ATM.

The brothers now face the following charges:

• Jonathan Footman: Scheming to defraud, grand theft (over $5,000), and illegal use of a communication device. Authorities are holding Jonathan Footman on a $65,000 bond.
• Joey Footman: In addition, Law enforcement has charged Joey Footman with impersonating a bail bond agent and fraud involving $20,000.

The suspects’ alleged actions not only exploited the victim’s trust but also involved significant financial loss and emotional distress. Cases like this emphasize the importance of verifying the identity and credentials of individuals claiming to be professionals, especially in sensitive situations involving legal and financial matters.
